Not a Photo post!

So I wanted to write something a little off subject.

In the previous post, I had noted that 80s rock was a major influence on me and my photography. How certain lyrics can resonate me and i want to turn them into photos. One of those bands, were Guns N’ Roses.

I got to see them for the 23rd time last sunday (7/26) and that grip they have on me is STILL there. Who would of thought that the feeling of seeing them live i get the same feeling at 46 as i did as 12.

Axl and the rest of the band sounded amazing. Was Axl perfect? No. But compared to the last 5-6 years he was fantastic. There was a couple songs he stuggled. Especially on “Yesterdays” but on a 3 hour set and only have only one real miss? Thats a huge win.

My fascination with GNR goes all the way back to elementary school. While i think Appetite for Destruction is the greatest album ever made,. I couldn’t really relate to it like i did the Illusion Albums. Don’t ask me to pick between the two because both albums had songs i truly gravitated too. Coma and Locomotive being the top 2 for me. Then ofcourse Don’t Damn Me. Dead Horse, Bad Obsession, 14 years, Breakdown and Yesterdays. If you’re familiar with those albums you’ll know the theme. If you know anything about my life, you’ll understand why those are important songs for me.

So yeah, this isn’t gonna be a long post in the scheme of things but i’m still riding that high so i needed to write something about it! If you are a GNR fan and kinda wondered how the band sounded and were on the fence (and i know how he’s sounded so you don’t have to tell me) you need to check them out. I doubt anyone will be disappointed.
